Mark Rowland has over 10 years of professional experience in the transport industry, including: network planning, engineering, safety, operations, technology and land-use planning. This is complemented by both his under and postgraduate tertiary qualifications in transport and traffic management. Mark has progressed to the role of Team Leader – Tram & Bus Projects, with periods of acting as Manager Project Delivery. These roles have seen him responsible for leading multi disciplined teams to deliver on a number of high profile projects, such as: developing a plan to improve conditions for road users along Victoria’s busiest arterial corridor (Hoddle Highway) – This included investigating the feasibility of continuous flow intersections and application of Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). And the development of the $200m public transport package, as part of the $7-9b East-West Link project.

Mark has developed his skills as an innovative leader through extensive involvement in key transport projects/ programs that are nationally and internationally recognised, and participating in various people leadership courses. Mark adds value from this exposure and experience through effective internal and external stakeholder engagement to deliver on projects.

  • Upgrading tram stops around Melbourne to DDA compliance and improving priority: Most recent Bridge Road (Richmond), Victoria Street (Richmond) and High Street (Northcote)
  • Project planning and delivery for improved priority along Melbourne’s busiest bus corridor the ‘Victoria and Hoddle Bus Upgrade Project’.
  • Project planning and delivery to improve person throughput along one of Victoria’s busiest arterial road corridor ‘Streamlining Hoddle St’.
