Benchmarking Public Transport for International Tourists in Queensland Cities

connector-building

The Queensland Department of Tourism, Major Events, Small Business and the Commonwealth Games is developing a strategy around Tourism and Transport and seeks to better understand the experience of tourists, notably overseas tourists, with regard to travel within Queensland.

For this project the PTRG is applying a new benchmarking tool, the Public Transport for International Tourist Index (PTFITI), to Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Cairns and Townsville. The PTFITI was developed by Monash University researchers and can be used to measure how a public transport system performs relative to the needs and concerns of international tourists.
