Name: Fuad Huda
Title: PhD research student
Affiliation: Monash University
Fuad Yasin Huda is an Honorary Research Fellow with the Public Transport Research Group at Monash Institute of Transport Studies. He completed his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Monash University, where his doctoral research examined the impact of private autonomous vehicles on the value of travel time and mode switch behaviour of central business district (CBD) car commuters. This work was undertaken as part of a prestigious Australian Research Council (ARC) Discovery Project and attracted significant attention, including an invitation to present findings to the Victorian Department of Transport and Planning.
Dr. Huda also holds a master’s degree in Transport Planning and Environment from the Institute for Transport Studies, University of Leeds, UK, and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Military Institute of Science and Technology (MIST), Bangladesh.
He has over a decade of experience in tertiary-level teaching and research across Australia, Bangladesh, and the United Kingdom. His research spans emerging and sustainable transport, travel behaviour, econometric analysis, transport planning and policy, and the interaction between transport and land use. His work integrates behavioural theory, advanced data-driven methods, and policy-oriented perspectives to inform evidence-based transport planning and decision-making.
Dr. Huda regularly publishes in leading international peer-reviewed journals and conferences and also serves as a reviewer for top-tier (Q1) journals, including Transport Policy, Transport Reviews, Transportation Research Interdisciplinary Perspectives, and Research in Transportation Economics.
